MANGAWHAI PREDATOR
CONTROL ZONE
In Mangawhai the plan is to bring together all existing predator control including that being undertaken on private land, and complement this by creating new areas of predator control on public land.
By taking a collaborative approach, we hope to create a trap network capable of reducing the likelihood of predators reaching ecologically sensitive areas throughout our community including the Mangawhai estuary, Piroa-Brynderwyn ranges, and remaining forest and wetland fragments.

The Mangawhai Predator Control Zone is a partnership project by the Shorebirds Trust and the Piroa Conservation Trust, made possible with funding through Northland Regional Council.
Volunteer trappers are needed for Mangawhai! Keen to help?
Already trapping? We would love to bring together and support the efforts of landowners and community groups
already undertaking predator control within the project area.
